NOTE - FIXED LAYOUT EBOOKS:

Book Creator supports iBooks fixed layout format, including double page images and soundtracks. Fixed layout books are not suitable if you want to create novels, where text flows from page to page. You will not be able to copy in large amounts of text from other documents.

TESTIMONIALS:

"What a great tool! It’s sleek, intuitive, and easy. Being able to design a fixed layout picture book right on the iPad makes total sense. Highly recommended."
- Liz Castro, Author of ‘EPUB Straight to the Point: Creating ebooks for the Apple iPad and other ereaders’

"The app is super intuitive! I was working on a book for my 7 year old niece (who lives in Brazil) in no time. It took me about 30 minutes to put together a book for her, publish in iBooks and email the ePub file to my brother…to open it up on his iPad…. for my niece to read it."

Pros and cons of Book Creator for iPad app for iPhone and iPad

Book Creator for iPad app good for

Great app so far and should be better in the future when more features will be implemented. Ebook creation is very easy even if the interface can be improved. But fast and professional customer service from the developer. Serge
This is for me the best, simplest but most powerful app to make students create their own pub to improve their skills and be more engaged in their learning. Very thanx to Red Jumper for bringing us such a good app and maintaining it at a high level regarding our observations.
Finally - an app that makes creating and publishing ebooks on the iPad a snap! I love the simple, clean interface of Book Creator. The ability to grab any image from your iPad to incorporate into your stories makes for endless possibilities when it comes to content creation. Not only is it simple to create your own electronic books, but the sharing features within this app provide ample opportunity to share your ebooks. Whether you wish to simply export your published work to iBooks or youd rather send the ePub file via e-mail or Dropbox, sharing your published work with family, friends and the world couldnt get much easier...
Book Creator is designed to do one thing, create ePub books in Apples Fixed Layout Format, it does this task well and makes the process very simple. The eBooks it creates are compatible with iBooks and publishing them to iBooks is just a finger click away. The Fixed Layout Format is great for the production of graphics rich (picture book) such as childrens books. Even though the Fixed Layout Format ePub was developed by Apple, it is not yet supported by them in their applications such as Pages. At this time Book Creator appears to be the only application which allows one to create these types of books easily, without having to write ePub code. I will give it 5 stars when the Book Creator team give it better text formatting and page layout features. But for now it is an excellent start and a fun way to make your own ebooks.
I love this app its easy to use and intuitive, the output results look great, looking forward to future updates. Hope to see the ability to add audio from within the app, as well as inline styling.
This is a very simple app, but extremely intuitive and useful. Place images, insert text boxes and export to iBooks. Thats it! Its not appropriate for text-intensive manuscripts that require pagination. For simple works with illustrations, though, it fits the bill perfectly. Delightful for children who can use a drawing app to create their own images and then see their creations published. No way to print out your book, if that is a concern.

Some bad moments

It is a nice application but it is missing the most fundamental function when creating any multipage document: template(s)… There is now way to maintain the same layout on multiple pages. This makes it very difficult to get a professional look on any books created...
This is one of the most expensive apps I bought. Adding a picture and text on a blank page. Thats all. No rotating no editing no tco, nothing. Really disappointing. I want my money back. No recommendation!
Dont be fooled by this app.You cannot use it to easily publish on the apple iBookstore. You still need to get an ISBN, which costs as much as $125.
Very easy to use. My 4-year old loves making and reading these books with me. Simple to publish to iBooks. I love this app. Well done!
Basically for creating simple books in landscape mode with preset font sizes, preset page size/layout. Would be great for kids books, cook books, books of photos, handouts, etc. Textbooks, as is mentioned in the write-up for the app, would be difficult and time consuming to create, as text does not flow from one page to the next. Each page will take only so many characters at the then determined font size SO if you change the font size the page formatting / layout gets all screwed up and you must either delete some or add more to put the page in order. Best to use MS Word and then Atlantis to create a "real" ebook in the ePub format; one that allows the reader to set options like font size, justification to their liking / needs.
I cant adjust the size, font, or colour of the text. No templates, just terrible. Wish I hadnt bought this.
